Grow, Go, and Glow!

"You Christians look after a document containing enough dynamite to blow all civilization to pieces, turn the world upside down, and bring peace to a battle torn planet. But you treated it as though it is nothing more than a piece of good literature."
——Mohandas Gandhi

When I consider the cost of so many lives lost in the struggle to get free access to God’s word, I am ashamed at how we have neglected it.

As long as we read books about the Bible and not the Bible itself, the enemy has succeeded in keeping the kingdom of God sterile, unhealthy, and weak.

There is no substitute for God’s word. It alone is the seed of his kingdom. Seedless watermelons may be convenient. But if that is all we produce, soon our children and grandchildren will not know the sweet taste of a cold, juicy watermelon slice on a hot summer day.

I have had people say to me, “oh I read the Bible but it is confusing. But when I hear you teach the word, it comes alive and I understand it so much more.”

To my selfish pride and to my earthly flesh, this sounds great. But in the spiritual world, it is grievous. I should not be complemented by such a statement. Instead, I should be saddened.

I think of all the lives that were sacrificed so that each man and woman can have the Scriptures—only to look around and find that those lives are not enough.

Most Christians have deluded themselves into thinking, “a verse a day keeps the devil away.”

For many, their entire intake of God’s word consists of reading a daily Bible verse from the calendar and listening to a sermon once a week.

And we wonder why the church in America is weak and anemic.

To see the kingdom grow, God’s word must be taken in abundantly. It must penetrate deeply into our souls.

It is that simple. The Scriptures are alive with God’s voice, and the Holy Spirit is in us with a special anointing that gives each of us direct access to God’s heart every time we open His Word.

So open the Bible…and read.

Read…read…read…

…and you will grow, go and glow!

I love you all!
Go give em Heaven,
