"The Lord Will Fight for You”

If it doesn't challenge you... it doesn't change you.

Have you ever wanted to panic?
I mean push the button now! Call 911! Things are bad, bad, bad!

That's the way the Israelites felt in Exodus 14 as they left Egypt.
At first, things seemed great--they were not only free to go.
But the Egyptians were giving them gold and riches as well.

Things seemed on the up and up and only getting better.
Then it happened. God did the unthinkable. He led them into a valley between two mountains with the Red Sea at one end and pharaoh who had now changed his mind about them leaving, at the other.

Trapped!
No way out!
Done!
Over!

"...and we are going to die here," they said.

Then Mosses had the the nerve to say it out loud, “stay calm” (Exodus 14:14).

Yikes, Moses! Did you here what you just said?

That is like being on an airplane and you hear the flight attendant say, should this “ plane decompress “ you know, as in we are going to crash, take hold of the oxygen mask put it gently over you face and…Breath normally”.

Like that's even possible!

Stay calm? Are you kidding me?
Do you know what is happening here?

Then Mosses said, “The Lord will fight for you.”

Wait what?

Yeah, that's what I said.

If you will just calm down, God is about to show His mighty hand in this situation.

I remember in 2014, when the Green Bay Packers started the season 1-2, and the fans were bemoaning the fact.  Arron Rodgers said to Packer Land, “five letters, R-E- L-A- X.” He then went on to lead his team to the playoffs.

I don't know what your situation is. However, I do know that God wants you to R-E- L-A- X.
Stay calm and watch what He does next. He did not bring you this far to leave you or to watch you be destroyed.

He has a plan and it is to prosper you not to harm you--or allow any one else to harm
you for that matter (Jeremiah 29: 11-13).

What He did next for the Israelites is still remembered by the entire world, and forever, it will be. He parted the Red Sea. He brought them through. And then He buried Pharaoh and his entire army at the bottom of that same sea.

He fought for them and all they had to do was stay calm and watch Him do His thing.

What about you? Do you trust Him? Believe me, I know it's not easy at times. You feel like the whole world is crashing in and staying calm is the last thing on your mind.

You feel like you must defend yourself and yet, all God wants is for you to relax and trust Him. And if you do, well, what happens next, you and others will remember for years to come.

Go Give Em Heaven,
Pastor Scott

Really needed this today! Goes along with the 1Peter series well! No matter what it looks like, Our Father knows best and He truly only wants what is best for us and we just need to learn to receive that with a humble heart, faith and obedience! Thank you Pastor Scott!
